Showshow1show2show3Well I had a great time at the SA doll and bear convention last weekend. Even though I am exhausted, It was a fantasic show. I sold 12 bears and got a order for 1. I took 15 bears with me and finshed 4 mini's while  was there. It was funny with the mini's. I finshed one put it on the table and sold within 30 mins. The last I finshed was sold in less than 5 mins. Funny. The collectors must have saw me making them and came back to see if they were finshed. Good promoting I thought.

I caught up wth some bear artists that I have known for a few years and new ones that I know of but have never meet. So that was really lovelly to findly meet sme artist that inspire me.

I had a few collector drop buy that have bought of me before. And I remembered them. It was lovely to hear from them. Especially a lady who bought a bear 3 years ago for her brother, whos name is Peter Smart. The male form.LOL. Peter loves his bear and has taken his bear all over the world. He travel 3 -4 times a year and the little bear sits in his pocket and is his travel compaigin. He just got back from Isral. This was a real high light of the show.

I took some pics of my table, but my batteries died straight after that so I didn't get any pics of anyone else. Shame. But I will be attending the "Woodend show" in Melbourne in Oct. So hopefully I can catch up with Pics there.

All in ALL love the show. and I was very excited about the out come. It has inspired me to work hard on my bear business. I was on a down a while ago, but this has given me the confidence and the inspiration to carry on. I do have wonderful collectors out there.

Uni is good this semester, I am doing Glass, ceramics and sculpture. Not sure what I am making as yet, but will see as the semester moves on. I am going the make a commitment to write on my blog on Saturdays or sundays, weekly. Wish me luck hehehehe.

I LOVE art school. I haven't been able to write on here for a long time as art school is sooooo busy but I will try my best in the future to keep you all updated. It has been a weird ride so far. Done heaps. I have done workshops in new media, jewellery, ceramics, printmaking and glass. Love every minute of all of the them except jewellery. Didn't really like that one. I have done a few projects for foundation study which is exploring to open your mind and think out side the square and Visual Inquiry which is drawing but drawing that is expressive and uncontinious, using materials of charcoal and inks. I am doing a course in art history which I can't stand but it is a core subject so it has to be done. I hate essay and I am not very good at them. I still have 4 other workshops to go this semester. They are photography, painting, textile and sculpture. After doing the workshops I can choose my specifications. I am at the moment choosing, Glass as my major ( glass blowing, casting, kiln form), and my minor will be a spilt minor of sculpture ( intro and bronze casting) and ceramics ( intro and sculpture in clay). I love every aspect of these 3 subjects.

So far in my Uni life the high light has been, I got to assist prof Yin form China in a small scale sculpture that he is making for the Olympics. He is a famous china sculpture. and the honor to assist him was amazing so I have added so pics of that. The sculpture will stay at Unisa and will have our names on it. He is also going to sculpture our portraits as a gift for us helping him and he has invited us to come back next week. This has been a surreal experience.

Below are some pics of my glass tile I had to do and of the experience with prof Yin. I will try and upload my mini movie I done in new media if I can work out how.

Well its been amazing and a eye opener. So far infoundation studies we have been exploring body parts. we had to select a body part, my was a nose and research pictures. The week after we had to draw 12 picture of that body part in 12 triggers eg distort, fantasy, etc. NOW well I had to choose a body part object. I chose my Forceps I use in my miniature making. I now have to recreate it in 3D and wear the object. So I am thinking of making it out of hair and having it as a hair piece. Well see. In visual inquiry. We have been exploring charcoal. Very messing but fun. I will take some pic and post them. In my workshops so far i have done Printmaking, That was fun. Jewerally making. Didn't really like that and ceramics. LOVED it. i will post some pics of that soon too.

So what my plan is to up date my Blog weekly unless anything exciting happens. And i will take pics all the things I am doing.

So good bye for now.
